About Patrice

Joy. Fulfillment. Life.

  • What would you title your autobiography and why?

    The Woman Who Chose Joy
Because this is how I actively live my life's purpose: “Choose joy, be mindful of joy, and share joy with others.”
    Rinse and repeat every day.
This is how I create success, fulfillment, and joy in my personal life, workplace, and communities.

  • Who inspires you?

Many people including, the late Desmond Tutu, who was our Honorary Chair of The American Friends of the Phelophepa Train, a non-profit board I served on for 12 years. The Phelophepa Train of Hope is two, 18-car trains that deliver primary health care services to remote regions of South Africa that are otherwise inaccessible.
Desmond Tutu, who was a fountain of joy, said: “Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”
He was one of my inspirations for starting Joyful Planet LLC, a consultancy focused on helping individuals and organizations to actively “live” or “operationalize” their purpose and unleash greater success, fulfillment and joy in their personal lives, workplaces, and communities.
Joyful Planet is also my vision of 8 billion people actively living their purpose and leveraging their talent, expertise, and passion in service of other people and our planet. I believe that, together, we can create a more joyful planet!
Here is a nice congratulatory note Desmond Tutu sent me some years ago:  https://joyfulplanet.com/kudos/

  • What advice would you give young AANHPI women and girls?

Discover and actively live your purpose in life to achieve greater success, fulfillment and joy for yourself and others. And in doing so, help create a more joyful planet.
