Eva Chung

Past Board Member

As Chief of People and Culture at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), Eva is responsible for the direction and management of the workforce and organizational culture. She provides leadership and strategic guidance across a wide range of HHMI initiatives, including talent management, compensation and benefits, learning and organizational development, and cultural change. Her work spans HHMI headquarters, the Janelia Research Campus, and field locations across the country. 

 

Eva brings over 25 years of human resources experience in both nonprofit and for-profit sectors, helping organizations build and sustain strong, inclusive cultures. Prior to joining HHMI in 2021, she served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Library Systems and Services in Rockville, Maryland, and held leadership roles at Sodexo, Community Services for Autistic Adults and Children, Inc., and State Farm. Eva was part of the 2010 APAWLI class and served as a CAPAW board member for several years. 

 

She holds a BA in Business Administration from Eastern Nazarene College and an MS in Organizational Development and Strategic Human Resources from Johns Hopkins University.
